Iryna Susha – project leader

Iryna Susha is an Assistant Professor at the Innovation Studies group of the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Faculty of Geosciences. Her research focuses on how organizations from different sectors can collaborate and leverage data to address societal challenges of the 21st century and contribute to sustainability goals.

Jaime Bernal – PhD candidate

Jaime Bernal is a PhD candidate at the Innovation Studies group of the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Faculty of Geosciences. Within the DATA ALLY project, Jaime explores the phenomenon of business-to-government data sharing with a focus on smart cities, where he studies the tensions inherent in this practice, its institutionalization and its outcomes in advancing sustainable development, fostering innovation and addressing asymmetries. After completing a Master of Science in International Political Economy at the London School of Economics, he worked at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre and in two Brussels-based associations.

Sofie de Wilde de Ligny – PhD candidate

Sofie de Wilde de Ligny is a PhD candidate at the Innovation Studies group of the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Faculty of Geosciences. Her research within the DATA ALLY project explores business-to-government data sharing, focusing on national statistical offices in the EU. She examines regulatory and non-regulatory pressures to access business data, the inherent tensions in these practices, and aims to address data asymmetries and the use of business data for decision making on societal challenges. Sofie holds an MA in New Media and Digital Culture and has worked as a junior researcher at the research platforms Data School and Datawerkplaats at Utrecht University, studying the imbedding of technology and responsible data practices in governmental institutions and platform infrastructures and their business models.
